Crochet Mesh Tote – Short Step-by-Step

Materials:

• 4 mm crochet hook

• Cotton yarn (your preferred color)

• Scissors and yarn needle

Steps:

1. Base:

   • Chain 46 (or desired width).

   • Work 4 rows of double crochet (dc) for a solid base.

2. Mesh Body:

   • Row 1: Ch 3, dc 1, ch 1, skip 1 stitch, repeat across, dc 1 in last stitch.

   • Row 2: Ch 3, dc in dc from previous row, ch 1, skip chain space, repeat.

   • Continue until desired height (about 20–22 rows).

3. Top Solid Rows:

   • Work 4 rows of double crochet to finish the top edge.

4. Handles:

   • Attach yarn at top edge, ch 60 for the first handle, skip 12 stitches, join with dc.

   • Repeat on the other side.

   • Work 2–3 rows of dc over the handles and top edge for strength.

5. Finishing:

   • Weave in ends and add a bow or tie for decoration.
